As digital and social media become more ingrained in our everyday lives, online marketing can be really intimidating for businesses who are new to this world. Paperkite Creative knows how important it is for companies to have a guiding resource in these uncharted territories. That’s why we’ve added a new team member to our talent roster to open this specialized marketing path for our clients.

Paperkite Creative is excited to welcome Tom Craig as our new digital marketing manager! Tom, originally from right here in Cooperstown, graduated from SUNY Geneseo with his undergraduate degree in communications. During his time at Geneseo, Tom was a member of the PR and communications team for an assisted living facility. There, he handled many of the day-to-day activities and had a role in managing the organization’s website.

“That initial experience was really eye-opening and is where I caught the bug for digital marketing,” Tom said.

He then went on to earn his master’s degree at Emerson College in Boston, where he studied communication management with a focus on political communication. Tom worked on many projects relating to foreign policy communication, social media, and more. He also helped develop campaigns from top to bottom and wrote many academic papers on various topics in communication. During those two years, Tom was a part of the events team at the Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams) and was directly involved in event planning and as a brand ambassador.

“We want to make sure our clients are found online at that critical moment when a customer is searching for a business or organization just like them,” explains Susan Green, Paperkite’s creative director. “Great creative and messaging will only work if someone sees it! You have to be found online and that is why we are so happy to have Tom join the team to make this a priority for our clients.”

Tom’s new role at Paperkite includes working hand-in-hand with clients to help them navigate their way into the digital and social media marketing world. He helps build strategic online campaigns using a wide variety of platforms. Tom also works to research which of those online platforms, such as Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, will be the most effective for our clients based on their goals and also regularly measures their effectiveness.
